Structure of Axial-Chlorocyclohexane

The E2 reaction of axial-chlorocyclohexane. This reaction will work because there are H-atoms in anti-periplanar positions! Even though the axial conformation is higher in energy as compared to the equatorial conformation; it is this conformation that undergoes the E2 reaction.
