Ozonide

The addition of ozone to an alkene first results in the formation of a heterocyclic 5-membered ring with two O-O and two C-O bonds, the molozonide. However, molozonide are not stable and they are converted into ozonides. Ozonides contain only one O-O bond and four C-O bonds in the 5-membered ring. The ozonide of propene is shown.
