Structure of Pyran

Pyran is an unsaturated 6-ring ether with isolated C=C double bonds. A sugar that forms a 6-membered ring and contains one O-atom is called a pyranose. Note that the sugar usually is saturated; only the ring size and the O-atom carry over from pyran to pyranose.
