1-Methyl-1,5-hexadiene is the product formed by Cope rearrangement of 3-methyl-1,5-hexadiene. The Cope reaction is a [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement. The molecule is shown in the conformation in which it is formed. This conformation may not be the most stable conformation of the molecule.
