Discussion Lists

The discussion lists have now been established. There are four separate mailing lists with the names CH212F96-L% where the % stands for an integer between 1 and 4. Unless you have made a special request (sign-up in class), you have been assigned to one of these lists based on the first letter of your family name as follows:

CH212F96-L1 A-D, CH212F96-L2 E-K, CH212F96-L3 L-P, CH212F96-L4 R-Z

Send your contributions to CH212F96-L%@lists.missouri.edu.
For example, if you are in group 1, you should address your discussion list contribution to CH212F96-L1@lists.missouri.edu

Make frequent use of the discussion lists.
And let me know what you think about the value of such discussion lists as a tool for learning chemistry.

Remember to be brief and concise.
Remember that disk space is (unfortunately) not (yet) unlimited.

We will be using mailing lists for student-to-student communications outside the classroom. The use of mailing lists for this purpose is new to Chemistry 212 and it is hoped that it will enhance active learning, critical thinking and interactivity.

To keep the mailing lists within reasonable size, there will be several mailing list for this course. These will be named CH212F96-Lx where x is a small integer specifying one of these lists.

Automatic subscription to private lists intended. List will be generated in the first week of September.

An introduction to lists will be given by Eric Crump, Brian Venable, and Rachel Johnson in the second part of the first lecture. For help on technical matters call the Writing Program Staff at 882-2493 or the Helpdesk at 882-5000.
