Awesome rides on the new fast train between Xi'an and Chengdu; June 19 - June 24. After
business in Chengdu, we took another short train ride to enjoy one day of recreation in
Dujiangyan. All was very well organized by GRA Kaidi Yang and Ms. Wang, her mother.



Chengdu appeals on all sensory levels. The hotpot at Xiao Longkan is famous,
delicious, and a little bit spicy. The Muslim quarters are an attraction and we
enjoyed the lively hutongs eating finger foods -- including rabbit heads (!) -- and
enjoying a dinner show of Sichuan arts.




Dujiangyan was well worth the day trip to see the anicient irrigation system which
regulates the flow in Sichuan's four main rivers. Beautiful walks along a hillside,
across bridges, through gardens and the Old City.
